So, Mandy Mitchell and I flew out from San Francisco to Portland with cocktails in hand. It felt like something out of Ab Fab. We had Mandy’s hair stylist pick us up and take us to the salon to have our hair did (we’re so fucking classy). Hung out at her pad with her girlfriend for a few days and had a champagne toast to our upcoming road adventure. During our time in Portland, we also decided, for our fans, to purchase a video camera so you could see just how ridiculous our life on the road together was going to be. Sometimes words cannot describe… We decided to divide our videos up into 3 separate sites:

It gets so fucking insane and ridiculous after that intro. I can’t even describe. You just have to watch it. I can tell you that it does include bananas though…
So, on with the trip. We left Portland around 5 or so, stopped at some dinner for internet service, when I received the most ridiculous email from a photographer that Mandy and I were supposed to stay with in St. Petersburg, FL. Received this out of my FetLife.com inbox. My agreement with the guy was that he’d hook me up with work with different people around the area, and he’d let me crash at his studio for free. In return I’d do some free photos for him. I told him I’d have my friend with me since we’re traveling together on our road trip and he was totally down. Didn’t mention to him that Mandy wanted to shoot or anything. She was just wanted to hang in Florida since she’s never been. Here’s the clip of me reading the emails and bitching about him here:

After I wrote him back and told him I was now skipping the trip to St. Petersburg because the things he was saying was making me feel uncomfortable, this is what he writes back:

Ignorant on so many levels. I decided to not reply to this because it wasn’t even worth my time anymore. Way to start a fucking trip though right?? Awesome.
Other than that minor drama during the beginning of our trip, the drive was amazing. It began to get dark driving through our trip towards Spokane, WA. I hadn’t been to that city in 10 years so it was interesting driving through. Actually, my whole drive through Washington to South Dakota I hadn’t been through in 10 years. Not since my road trip when I was 18 with my crazy ex boyfriend at the time. He still calls me from time to time to tell me how I’ve ruined his life. Whatever…
We drove through most of Montana in the pouring rain with road obstacles everywhere. It scared me. Especially with the deer crossing signs everywhere. It was all good though. I just wanted to get to the Testicle Festival and goddammit, we got there! It was closed though. We showed up around 4am or something.

At sun rise, we almost ran out of gas, but thankfully found some gas station in the middle of nowhere and then ended up in Helena, MT. Had some breakfast and then took a sleeping pill and crashed for 4 hours. When I woke up, we were parked outside of a Kum & Go. I bought a flask.

So nothing really happened in South Dakota, except for stopping in Sturgis for shitty Mexican food (video on MandyMitchell’sxxx Channel soon)… And our trip to the Mutha Fuckin’ Corn Palace!! I was very excited about this because it was Mandy’s first time there and the Corn Palace is located in Mitchell, SD. But, just like the Testicle Festival, we showed up around 2am so it was closed. There’s a clip of Mandy’s reaction to her first time at the Corn Palace but it hasn’t been posted yet because she wants to fix the sound. However, it will be on MandyMitchell’sxxx Channel soon. I’ll keep ya posted.
The rest of the drive was kinda boring and rained a lot. More road obstacles and more of Mandy playing the new Of Montreal album. Our theme song for this whole trip so far has been Of Montreal’s “Our Riotous Defects”. I ended up passing out at some point around 4am in Minnesota and woke up around noon an hour outside of Chicago. Joy! I went into some gas station to take a piss, grab a pretzel and some Starbucks, when Morgan Bailey called inviting us to come over and crash at Jasmine Jewels‘ pad during our stay. Of course we said yes. So, I’m happy to say that I’ve now taken a shower after 36 hours, about to get some Chicago style pizza (yum!) and a nice bottle of wine and chill with my friends.
